Pokhara, 11 December 2025 – The PNC-NUS Student Colloquium themed Community, Culture and Climate Change was successfully held today at Prithvi Narayan Campus (PNC), Pokhara. Organized in collaboration between Prithvi Narayan Campus and the College of Alice & Peter Tan (CAPT), National University of Singapore (NUS), the event brought together students from PNC, CAPT-NUS, and Pokhara Lincoln International College (PLIC).
The programme began at 10:00 am with a formal inauguration by Prof. Dr. Hari Prasad Pathak, Campus Chief of Prithvi Narayan Campus. Greeting remarks were delivered by Prof. Dr. Hari Prasad Pathak and Dr. Kankana Mukhopadhyay, Senior Lecturer at CAPT, NUS. From 10:00 am to 11:30 am, students from the three institutions presented their research and perspectives on the intersections of community, culture, and climate change. The session was skilfully moderated by Ms. Sailtaaj Kunwar (MA 2nd Semester, English Literature, PNC) and Mr. Fong Kai Jun (CAPT, NUS). Certificates were presented to all student presenters by Dr. Bijaya Bahadur Thapa, Assistant Campus Chief of PNC, along with Dr. Kankana Mukhopadhyay and Ms. Wong Soon Fen, both Senior Lecturers from CAPT, NUS. The colloquium concluded with closing remarks delivered by Dr. Bijaya Bahadur Thapa and Ms. Wong Soon Fen, who expressed appreciation for the students’ insightful contributions and highlighted the importance of continued academic collaboration between Nepal and Singapore. The entire Colloquium was coordinated by Mr. Amrit Kumar Bhandari, QAA/EMIS Coordinator of Prithvi Narayan Campus.
Following the academic session, participants enjoyed an interactive campus tour and a visit to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) Museum from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. The event concluded with a shared lunch from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm, offering students further opportunities for cross-cultural exchange and networking. The colloquium highlighted the value of international academic partnership in addressing global challenges while deepening mutual understanding between Nepali and Singaporean students. Both institutions expressed strong interest in continuing and expanding such collaborative initiatives in the future.
