Orientation Programme Held for LL.M. First Semester at Prithvi Narayan Campus

Pokhara, Thursday (2082/10/15) — An Orientation Programme for the LL.M. First Semester (Batch 2081/82) was successfully organized at Prithvi Narayan Campus, Pokhara, under Tribhuvan University, with the aim of orienting newly admitted students to the academic structure, research culture, and institutional expectations of the LL.M. programme.

The programme was graced by Prof. Dr. D. N. Parajuli, Dean, Faculty of Law, Tribhuvan University, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr. Parajuli emphasized the importance of advanced legal education in strengthening legal scholarship and producing capable legal professionals to address contemporary constitutional and legal challenges.

The programme was chaired by Mr. Birendra Bastola, LL.M. Programme Director, who highlighted the academic rigor of the LL.M. programme and stressed the importance of dedication, consistency, and active scholarly engagement. He also briefed the students on the curriculum structure and academic requirements of the programme.

The event formally commenced with a welcome note by Dr. Bhim Nath Baral, B.A.LL.B. Programme Director, who welcomed the Chief Guest, campus officials, faculty members, and students, and extended his best wishes to the newly admitted students.

Mr. Kishor Subedi, Librarian of the Campus, delivered welcome remarks highlighting the importance of library services, legal databases, and research resources in postgraduate legal studies. He encouraged students to make effective use of library facilities.

Representing the student body, Mr. Bishnu Pokharel, FSU Chair, and Mr. Manav Raj Baral, FSU Member, welcomed the new LL.M. students and wished them academic success.

Senior Faculty Member Associate Professor Hari Subedi oriented the students about the LL.M. programme, providing insights into the course structure, teaching–learning approaches, research components, and academic expectations of the programme.

Campus Chief Dr. Sushil Bhattarai also delivered his remarks, emphasizing the campus’s commitment to academic excellence, quality education, and research development.

During the programme, Mr. Amrit Kumar Bhandari, QAA Coordinator of the Campus, delivered a speech focusing on quality assurance in higher education. He highlighted the present research-friendly academic atmosphere of the campus and the strong prospects for quality legal research.

Faculty members and LL.M. students were present throughout the programme, which concluded with an interactive discussion session. The orientation programme is expected to play a vital role in facilitating students’ smooth academic transition and strengthening postgraduate legal education at Prithvi Narayan Campus.
